Our pattern of worship that we follow is established for us in the bible. ''But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for such people, the Father seeks to be His worshipers. God is spirit and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth" John 4:23-24.
We believe that in order to worship God in spirit, we must worship Him with our entire being. So, we clap our hands, lift our voice and sing songs of praise unto God. Our worship forms are built on the Bible pattern.
Clapping and Lifting Hands -Audible Praise - Old Testament writer, David, said, " clap your hands all ye people, shout to God with a voice of triumph." Ps 47:1. The Psalms also speak of lifting up Holy hands in an attitude of surrender and worship to God. Ps 63:4; 1 Tim 2:8. The Apostle Paul, a New Testament writer said "Let us offer a sacrifice of praise to God continually that is the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name." Heb 13:15. Audible praise is part of our natural response to the love and grace of God we have experienced in our lives.
Singing and Musical Instruments - Our songs of Praise to God include those sung in our native language and those we sing in heavenly language. Musical instruments are used because the Psalmist says, ''praise Him with the sound of the trumpet, praise Him with the psaltery and harp. praise Him with the timbrel and dance. Praise Him with stringed instruments, praise with the loud cymbals...'' Ps 150:3-5.
Tithes and offerings - Another aspect of our worship to God is when we give our tithes and offering to him. We gladly bring our offerings and give thanks for His goodness and blessings in our lives. As our gifts are collected we join together in a vocal expression of praise and worship to God believing that God is our source and thanking him for His provision in our lives. In prayer, we visualize our tithes and offering being used specifically for the extension of God's kingdom. 2 Cor 9; Mal 3:10; Luke 6:38; Duet 16:17.
